Operating in the Gap
GCE started as a response to problems that kept showing up inside otherwise-successful businesses. Capable leaders were carrying more than they should — not because they wanted to, but because the business needed it.
GCE Strategic Consulting was founded by Ken Paskins after years in senior operating and advisory roles. He worked alongside founders and leadership teams who were doing everything they could to keep things moving, often by stepping into gaps that were never meant to be permanent.
What became clear was this: most businesses didn’t need more ideas or another framework. They needed experienced leadership in the moments where growth outpaced internal capacity and the right long-term role wasn’t yet clear.
Too often, leaders feel stuck between two options: carry the load themselves, or make a full-time hire before a role is clearly defined. GCE was built to offer a third path.
How GCE Took Shape
From the beginning, our firm was designed to work inside your business and with the intention of leaving once we were no longer needed. We step in when it matters, help reset operations, and step back once teams can carry forward on their own.
As the firm grew, that approach stayed consistent even as the work expanded. Different businesses needed different kinds of leadership at different times. Sometimes that meant leading directly. Other times it meant reinforcing internal leaders or bridging a transition.
Today, we work with founder- and executive-led organizations navigating growth, transition, and complexity.
What has never changed was the intent: leave your business stronger than we found it.
