The article provides Elon Musk as an example of a Commander type leader. As this article states, leaders using a commander leadership style will struggle with employees and clients that prefer a more collaborative approach to getting things done. If you are a commander type leader, it is crucial for you to understand the leadership style of your L-10 (Leadership) team. You may have collaborators, co-creators and communicators on your team, and trying to assert yourself and take control all the time may push your team out.
The Communicator Leader:
Most leaders lack robust communicator leadership strategies. The article sights a report that suggests that 69 percent of leaders are scared to talk to their employees. Communicator leaders focus on the articulation of their vision and goals. Sometimes this style can be seen as one that over communicates and under delivers. The Co-Creator Leader
The article states "Like the collaborative leader, the co-creating leader allows stakeholders to pursue their individual goals in tandem with the goals of the organization."
